I met Emmett at an open house. I was impressed with his professionalism and knowledge right away so my husband and I decided to make him our family Real Estate agent!I would recommend him to anyone because he made it clear that he was more CONCERNED ABOUT US than "making a sale". My family fell in love with a fixer-upper and we asked Emmett to come over with the papers so we could make an offer. He did, but he also brought some comps and shared his concerns. This woman is WONDERFUL at her job!!! She puts her clients before the sale, & makes sure you are informed every step of the way.My boyfriend & I are being forced out of our current home we've been renting for 2 1/2 years, because the people who recently inherited the property decided it's more beneficial to sell it off rather than continuing to rent. After looking at how high rent would be for the space we need, we decided to start exploring the option of buying property. We met with a random realtor we connected with after getting their number off of a "For Sale" sign in front of a listed property; after only seeing two houses with them, they made me feel naïve, isolated & claustrophobic. I felt as if I was being rushed into making a very big decision, & chastised for not being prepared financially, when they hadn't even bothered to listen when I tried to tell them our current living situation. It was a very unpleasant experience, so we began looking for someone else to work with. I had known Kim from being a former student of hers in High School & had heard she had gotten into the realty business; I always thought she was such a nice & helpful person, so I contacted her.The difference between her & our previous realtor was NIGHT AND DAY!!! Being a former teacher, Kim is a natural at giving you the information & materials you need to understand the undertaking of buying property. She walks you through every step & makes sure that it makes sense to you. She showed us SEVEN houses in the span of 3 1/2 hours (the last realtor showed us two [one was already pending] before telling us, "this is it for your price range") & helped us understand which ones were money pits & why, what neighborhoods would be good for our safety/piece of mind for when we are out of the house, and what houses had potential even when we had a hard time seeing it. As first-time home buyers, this was EXACTLY what we needed.Kim was also an essential asset to us by helping us understand all of the extra costs on top of the asking price that comes with buying a house... we didn't have all that information before, & if we had pulled the trigger & gone for the house we were encouraged/pressured to take originally, we would have been drowning in debt as soon as we moved in. We now know that we need to save for a few more years before we'll have enough cash to make a solid down payment for a place and still feel financially secure.
